The short version: there are no accounts here. Your learning progress stays on your own device. We do not run ads, we do not sell data, and we only get your email if you choose to give it to us.

You can use everything on HearMandarin without creating an account or telling us who you are.

Your progress stays with you

Things like your tone practice streak, your pinyin display choice, and your review history are saved by your browser, on your device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data will erase them, and using another device starts fresh.

What we can see

• Anonymous page counts. We use a privacy-friendly counter to see which pages are visited and roughly from which country. It does not use cookies and cannot identify you.
• Standard delivery records. Like nearly every website, the servers that deliver our pages and audio keep short-lived technical records to keep the service running and block abuse.

If you give us your email

If you subscribe for downloads or updates, we use your email only for that. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you. We never sell or share the list.

If you buy Pro

Payments are handled entirely by our payment partner, the seller of record. They send us your order details and email address so we can deliver your purchase and help you if something goes wrong. Your card number never reaches us. Our partner has its own privacy policy, linked at checkout.
